Of all the things I've ever tried to paint getting shafts of sunlight through trees or through water is the hardest I've probably ever attempted. This image is certainly better than anything I've done! The trees and leaves, shading and form are particularly impressive.

Thanks Strovey, I must admit I was trained in the old academic master's technique after I self-trained like everybody else. Just like you I wouldn't have been very successful into tackling this kind of subject without that training, I also admit. I posted 2 tutorials in the OAC tutorial section if you're interested to know about by this subject, I invite you to go and have a look, others will follow eventually.

Thanks a lot, this is 10" X 14" (inches) really a small painting. A calm and serene scene of a backyard forest.
