Woman Portrait

Type: drawing Uploaded: 2015-11-07

Description:

This is the first portrait that I have ever drawn in my life. I haven't drawn anything for ages and if then only animals. So I would really love to get your feedback on how to improve my portrait drawing skills or what to practice. I'm really sorry for the bad image quality, but I just have my mobile phone at the moment to take photos and the light conditions are not ideal.

Looks good for a first. I would put shadows in to get a better light view, other than that it's solid.

Looks really good for a first portrait! I like that it takes up the majority of the page and I also think you have really good attention to detail. People often forget to draw the waterline under the eye but clearly you paid close attention to little things like that. I find that with portrait drawing its really important to do a basic layout before you get into the shading and whatnot. Figure out how big you want the head to be, what angle it should be at and where all the facial features will go. The face shape and shape of all the features on it look good, but I think the placement of the eyes compared to the nose are a little off. keep it up though
