The contrast seems a little weak here... the shadows on his tunic could be significantly darker, and the bright spots brighter.
Regardless: The pose has a lot of energy, and I like how the figure is in sharper detail than the background, it really brings him into the fore.

The cloting and pose look really good. So does the shading, too. Only the grass and bushes in the foreground look a bit messy.
