Alexander von Humboldt and Arthur Gabriel meeting each other in 1819, after being separated for 15 years. Alexander von Humboldt (1769 - 1859) was one of the most influential scientists of the 19th century. My admiration for him is one of the reasons I am studying Biology and his life is fuel for my imagination.
