I like the way the piece is light at the top with dark tree limbs and beast and dark at the bottom with light roots (?) and woodsman ! The light from the lantern shining on the side of the man gives the piece a scary effect. Are these two partners in terrorizing the villagers ! I like it !

Thank you! They are two characters from the animated series Over the Garden Wall. The Beast actually manipulated the Woodsman to keep the lantern containing his soul lit. Only one was terrorizing people while the other was forced to help.
