Merrow, Irish mermaid

In the Irish folklore, the mermaid, or maighdean mhara, were green-haired ladies. Very beautiful, with pale, pearly skin. The males were very ugly, so they would enchant men from the shore so they would be satisfied. They are gentle, modest and affectionate.
