The rendering of the boat and ocean is pretty commendable, however the background has too much of a contrast to really set itself apart from the ocean. Plus, the boat is rendered on the horizon, which makes the perspective look very surreal, I am not sure if this was intentional or not. I would suggest doing a few paintings from real life photos or sceneries to get a general feel of what an oceanscape should generally look like.
