This drawing is really amazing and the details and shading is great! However if I could suggest one item of change, it would be for the rest of his lower body to be outlined and slightly visible. A dark grey or the blue would work best. Although I get your idea of having him emerge from darkness, I feel that the light that is already present would in fact reach the lower part of his body, and it would look best drawn in somehow. Otherwise. absolutely gorgeous job!
