Painting of an Elk Skull
Description:
Oil on canvas, 50 x 45 cm, September 2014 This painting took me about five days to do, including the frame on which the canvas has been fastened. I’m pretty proud of how it turned out. The only thing I don’t like is that the pumpkin looks just like an orange sponge. © Art belongs to The Beautiful River

Still life objects well chosen for texture, shape, color and reflectivity. A successful study in light logic. I like it 1

The animal skull sets it apart from the tipical still life. The paint color and texture is gorgeous. The candle lines may have been aligned uniformly by pre-sketching below where the paint will be, but that's trivial.

Thank you very much for writing this comment, your feedback for me is highly appreciated. I agree with you about aligning the candle lines, they could look a bit better if I had sketched them first. But, as you've said, it's just a small fry and personally I'm all right with it.
