The forces of Mother Nature

Description:

My painting "The forces of Mother Nature" is done at last! 80ish hours of work... but this thing is huge: 90x120 cm in size, plus the 2,5 cm on each side is painted as well. It is my largest project I have ever done and the most time consuming... and was my last project at the school. The design of the painting is all made up by me, and it is a surrealistic painting of a woman, who has a lot of the natures attributes around her. This painting is dedicated to our world/planet that we live in, the beauty of it, the origin and its mysteries. We should never forget how big nature is and how small and powerless we humans are compared to it. Somehow we tend to think we are bigger than we are. To explain this painting and more of the meaning behind it I'll start with the top right corner and go clockwise. At the top-right we can see that the woman wears a tiara. It is put there to resemble the importance of nature. The eyes resemble the stars (or the sun) while in the middle you can see our 8th and last planet: Neptune. The mascara shows how nature is always moving forward, and the past fading away into nothingness. The bottom right corner we can see that the lips are colored in red, again to resemble beauty. Her shoulder is our own planet: Earth. Behind it we have our sun rising and the moon besides it. Next to the moon we have the Andromeda galaxy, which is actually will collide with our own galaxy, in about 3 billion years from now. Below we can see water flushing out. It resembles the flood (keep in mind the global warming). The bottom left we can see our neighbor march. There is an UFO right below it to the left, it can resemble alien life, but also our trip to this planet. The top left we can see bacteria at the very top. We all come from these small lifeforms, so without them we would never exist. The cards logos resemble the randomness but also the luck that we have, that we have our planet to live on. Humans have yet to find another planet which is habitable, and the odds are not on our side because there are so many factors that matters for life to be possible. The womans blue hair can be seen as hair, but also a flood, with the two fish swimming against the stream. No matter what happens to us humans, life will move on, even after our destruction of our home planet. The flowers follows down the stream where the stream changes color, from blue to red, resembling the travel of time our universe has had. These are just some of my thoughs behind the painting. There are many hidden messages and it is up to the viewer to get a picture of this paintings meaning and message.
