Faery Lantern

The leaf wing fairy won only honorable mention in the art festival last summer. This is a study of lighting, with the light source emitting from the lantern. You know most of the time when I think of fairies I imagine that they'd all have butterfly wings or months wings, but this one is unique because it has leaf wings, sprouting out of her back. Realistically they would never support her in flight, but I guess that's where all the magic comes in, right? Most people when they look at this picture think that this fairy is wearing green boots or some shit like that. That is not the case, it's also a silhouette study, the leaf spread has covered up her legs in this view of perspective, and the light source cast a silhouette view of her legs, causing her calf to look green or making it look like she is wearing boots. I had a lot of fun with this and am pleased with how this turned out.
