This was no passion of his, he was a proficient killer with an uncanny sense for danger, but this meant little to him, his most cherished time was spent with his birds. Cassris became enthralled with the carrion feeders of his people's new world, the Lilliatn legacy so closely tied with death it only made sense. He befriended and bred them, inadvertently they became an integral part of his guardianship. No one cared for his penchant for animals, his brothers mocked him relentlessly and his father scoffed at wasted time, but for Emulaila, it was the straw that broke the love from her heart. They connected via the birds in a way that their families would never allow and quickly this relationship was recognized and abolished. He watched as Emulaila's brother took her from the last shards of their people's civilization. It would only be a matter of time before Cassris' fate would be brought upon him.
