Description:
This is a piece I illustrated then colored digitally. If features one of my Ocs, Dakuwaqa, shedding tears. Its meant as a representation of the low moments of my life and was made during a period when I was feeling really sad and depressed. I'm seeking to improve my digital art skills so any feedback would be nice.

Great incstint for colours and shapes. Polite composition. To my smuggy point of view, needs improvement when it comes to proportions and to express a characther's emotion (not sure if Dakuwaqa is happy, sad or sleeping). I guess that low moment passed out, both him and you.

A few things that I would try: -Use atmospheric perspective (make the contrast and colors more faded out in the distance) -Utilize more colors in your palette, since this is mostly blue-green use some accents in a light orange hue -Add shadows to accentuate the depth -Depending on how deep in the water this piece is, it may or may not have caustic effects (the light from the sun making shimmery waves). If not, maybe play with the background and make it darker while the tears are luminous like bioluminescent deep-sea fish? You captured the emotion nicely, it's definitely melancholy. I'd like to see when the character and/or you are feeling better :) I can relate to depression and it's powerful to express these emotions.
