Description:
I tried out drawing realistic and this is what came out. I did not use a book or anything else to help me with my drawing. I didn't even use a picture. I just drew from. My memory. Please tell me what I need to improve on?

The nostrils look a bit too large and fleshy. Otherwise i suggest you use a softer pencil, too, to increase contrast and dephth.

I think it's quite good for not using a reference, however it's best to use a reference. One big rule is to draw from real life. That way eventually you'l' get more used to drawing the horse anatomy greatly with correct proportions with not much of references. Keep practicing.

It's a nice drawing. You will improve with practice. My advice would be to draw as much as possible from life and perhaps copy the work of great artists.
