About this artwork

This is a mixed media composition that I made at the end of 2014. I was not trying to achieve realisim through the painting, but the drawing was intended to resemble a realistic texture. I do think I could have done better, but I have since then improved greatly. It's sometimes a hit and miss situation in art, especially when you do not dedicate all your time in the simplest detail. The name "Voodoo Mountain" should reveal the story behind this painting/drawing. It's about a woman and her tribe going on an expedition to a mountain where the spiritual boundary between humans and spirits are thinnest. As a result of these Voodoo practices, the spirits become disturbed and angry, as you can see on the mountain, and some of the tribe people get eaten alive.( I think).
