Because Ja'Zhuul as a whole are only partly sentient, some members of the species exhibit much more intelligence than others. K'Trita is one of those, a group of Ja'Zhuul "nobles", in other words, Ja'Zhuul who have learned to speak, read, write, and further themselves through free, intelligent thought. K'trita acts as an emissary for the Ja'Zhuul people, representing them wherever she goes. (Arm-blade design is different due to a kind of "social norm" in Zhuulic culture that mandates that those of higher standing and sentience must shave and file the barb off.) Granted, she is an elder member (around 80,000 years) of a well-to-do Zhuulic tribe, but still it is quite remarkable that she has the learnedness and intellect that she does. A few quotes: "Show me a respectful Krothean and I will show you a smart tiika." ('tiika' is the Ja'zhuul's way of referring to themselves.)
