A Wish In The Clouds

I love the idea you have here, and I think with a little bit of practice it could be a great painting. You did a great job with the clouds in the background as well as most of the largest flower, but the petals of the flower need more time. Overall, I love the surreal, tranquil feel of the painting. When you draw/paint, do you try painting the subject (flowers) first, so you can get some practice in before doing the whole thing?
