In the mexican revolution, all men where to fight, so women left alone without their protection at their homes... these women, instead of letting fear drive them, took their weapons to defend themselves from bandits who took advantage of the situation, Some of them participated in the revolutionary movement as soldiers, nurses and cooking. These women was known as "Adelitas"
