Description:
From a Visual Basic program I've created called "Symmitrace," in this case, "Symmitrace-2012," the latest incarnation. Essentially it is a theoretical design using a 4-wheeled Spirograph... a 4th wheel, revolving around a 3rd wheel, revolving around a 2nd wheel, revolving around a stationary circle. My toy is better than Kenner's however, as the wheels can grow and shrink; the ink color can either remain constant, as with the original, or the pens can change their colors continuously across the whole spectrum, from white to black. Also, the pens can cut in and out (5 pixels on / 10 pixels off... that sort of thing); the wheels can spin in reverse (which would be VERY hard to do with Kenner gears!); all four rings can print at once; the output can be offset some distance on x and y axes to one quadrant and symmetrical output can appear in the other three quadrants, etc., etc. This particular piece has one ring updating in 90-degree increments as is evidenced by some of the "cubes."
