This looks like you did it with a million little dots ! Very nicely done to create gradations of tone. A nice happy expression. Keep it up !

I like the use of Dots as shading, but try to add some soft shadows under the hair that is in front of his face. Try to do something with the background so it is not empty, but not too much that the boy cannot be seen.

This is really nice! I feel like the highlights in the face are not as powerful as they could be if the background was shaded in. I'd recommend either shading in the highlights a bit or darkening the background.
