You should try using acrylic paints. The gradation of the color pencil tends to not appeal to the human eye unless there are a vast amount of hues. Also ( this is my opinion ), the lines that outline the fish are unnecessary. It doesn't contrast well with the interesting shapes coming out of the fishes mouth.
