    1.Try to start from black underpainting. I Ususally start from black canvas, for you start inlightening everything so the values are up to your liking. It's simple, black isn't a colour, it's merely a lack of light and as such you start. It works for me fine. That way you'll be comming out from depth outwards. 2. You can always mix a little of the color the white surface is facing. Just a tiny bit. 3. DO NOT be affraid of colours, you can allways overpaint the area. Let your self lose.

    I saw your profile and all your works. You have very good hand for art. Brilliant drawings, but when it comes to paintings I find a piece off palette missing. You are, in my opininan, overusing black for shadows. This for instance looks like a good reproduction, but with a lack natural breeze in the palette. It's as if you have something, but don't want to give it. Give painting more time, unilke drawing it requires different kind of patience. Your drawings tell me your talent is brilliant. they are all great.
