Escher's Relativity fan art
Description:
Escher's artwork "Relativity" is the inspiration for this. This is actually a very old drawing. I don't often draw backgrounds anymore. I'm pretty sure it was mainly drawn from memory and imagination, other wise I would have tried to put in multiple conflicting outdoor parts and that one curved step.

It certainly grasps the spirit of Escher's work. I can see that a lot of thought and imagination went into the reversals of orientation involved. I think this could be improved by shading, by making different planes different shades. Some of this has been done on the open doorways and windows, but I think that doing the same on some of the other surfaces would add more dimension to the piece.
