Since I got assigned to create a portrait of the classmate that sat closest to me ,who was also my biggest crush in my Drawing I class, this was indeed one of the most nerve racking portraits I've ever done.

The facial expression is actually pretty impressive. I would suggest more shadow under the jaw for more definition. As for the hair, I lightly sketch the outline of the hair and shade with similar strokes you used, then lightly erase towards the highlights. You look like you could be on your way to a pretty fine artist.
